Code of Conduct
Purpose
The Forum Artistic Research is committed to providing a inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all participants, including attendees, speakers, performers, workshop leaders, staff, and guests.
We expect all participants to uphold the highest ethical and professional standards, behaving with integrity and showing respect for everyone involved in the event, regardless of their role or background.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all activities related to the Forum Artistic Research, including:

Keynotes, oral presentations, lecture performances, pieces with talks, and workshops.

Coffee breaks, lunches, the concert, the exhibition, and any other social or networking events.

Online spaces associated with the forum (e.g., communication channels, virtual participation).
This Code applies to all participants, including organisers, presenters, and attendees. It complements and does not replace any relevant laws, institutional policies, or rules of the venue.
Prohibited Conduct
Harassment is any inappropriate or unwelcome behaviour that could reasonably be expected to cause offence or humiliation to another person. All forms of harassment are prohibited at the Forum Artistic Research, including harassment based on:

Gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation.

Physical ability, appearance, or health status.

Ethnicity, race, national origin, or religion.

Political affiliation or age.

Any other reason.
Sexual harassment is a specific form of prohibited conduct. It includes any unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature that could reasonably be expected to cause or be perceived as offense or humiliation. This can be verbal, non-verbal, or physical, and includes written and electronic communications. It can occur between people of the same or different genders.
Examples of prohibited conduct include, but are not limited to:
Verbal/Non-Verbal:

Making demeaning or degrading comments about someone’s sexual orientation, gender identity, appearance, or clothing.

Making sexual comments about a person’s body.

Telling sexual or obscene jokes or anecdotes.
-
Repeatedly asking someone out or for sex after being declined.

Sending sexually suggestive communications or sharing inappropriate images/videos.
Physical:
-
Unwanted touching, including pinching, patting, rubbing, or deliberately brushing against someone.

Making inappropriate sexual gestures (e.g., pelvic movements).

Leering or lustful gazing.

Attempted or actual sexual assault, including rape.
Reporting Process
If you experience or witness any conduct that violates this Code, please report it as soon as possible. You can contact the event organisers Lucia D’Errico and Uliana Bychenkova. A report can be made in person or by email (lucia.derrico@gmpu.ac.at, uliana.bychenkova@gmpu.ac.at). All reports will be taken seriously and handled with discretion.
Consequences of Violations
Upon receiving a report, the organisers will take appropriate actions, which may include:

Investigating the facts.

Issuing a warning to the offender to stop the behaviour immediately.

Removing the offender from the event without a refund.

Banning the offender from future events organised by the Forum Artistic Research or the associated institution (e.g., the University).

Reporting the incident to the offender’s employer or relevant authorities (e.g., university disciplinary board, police), depending on the severity.
Non-Retaliation
Threats, intimidation, or any other form of retaliation against a person who makes a good-faith report or provides information supporting a report are strictly prohibited. Retaliation will be subject to the same consequences as the prohibited conduct itself.
