Federico Eisner-Sagüés

Uruguayan/Chilean musician, writer and researcher specialized in the intersection of music and poetry from different perspectives and spaces, in which collective work has always had a central role. He is a founding member of the Orquesta de Poetas and the Festival Poesía y Música PM. He maintains musical projects with sound poets and musicians in Latin America and Europe. Eisner has dedicated to researching works such as Alturas de Machu Picchu by Los Jaivas/Neruda for his Master’s thesis in Musicology (U Chile), and to artistic research on the collaboration between sound poetry and music through vocal practices for his PhD in Arts/Music (UC Chile). He studied electric bass and piano and was part of various bands in Chile and Uruguay. He has published poetry, fiction, and academic books, as well as articles in specialized journals. He holds a degree in chemistry, and thanks to this, has worked in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
