Speaker
Reni Hofmüller
Reni Hofmüller, born June 19, 1966, in Hall in Tirol, has lived in Graz since 1989. As a media artist, I focus on sound through live performance, installation, and radio composition, with a long-standing interest in space. This includes physical spaces like the esc medien kunst labor Graz, where I’ve been involved in program design and planning since its founding in 1993. Our focus is art in technological contexts, including public space as a societal project for artistic intervention. Equally important is the media space, particularly radio and the Internet, where I engage with free software, open source, and open hardware concepts. I played a key role in the founding of Radio Helsinki and mur.at, a platform for the non-commercial use of the Internet by artists and cultural workers, and remain active there. As a DIY artist, musician, composer, performer, organizer, curator, and activist, my work spans new media, technology, feminism, politics, and free software.
